Cafe-Roadster: assembling in France. Photo, part 1.

There was a video about Zephyr 750 Cafe-Roadster assembling in previous post, here is a first part of photos. As I wrote somewhere earlier, I spent more time for “French part” of project than expected. The reason mostly was in a lot of cleaning works and electrical issues I had to do and solve. I don’t like when wiring is assembled somehow so I took soldering-iron and fixed all little bugs I found, also I prepared dashboard to be easy connected to Zephyr 750 wiring, when French bike had ZR-7 engine with ZR-7 wiring, so I had to remake this part of work, and it took a quite a bit of my time.

Also, as I understood, the bike without steering lock is illegal in France so I made a lock stop for my lowered ignition switch and we welded it to frame neck. There was a lot of other work like cable and wires routing ( works smoothly with clip-ons and looks clean and neat ), carburetors rejetting, brake hoses changing – and all that have got part of time. But I worked in big, brightly lit and well-equipped garage, so that was a pleasure of mine except I missed for some tools and stuff I used to have at hand (like polishing compound) back home in my Gazzz-garage.

And so on and so forth. But let’s move to photos. There are a work moments on them and some parts of bike I hadn’t show before, like tail light construction and dashboard mounting. So, wishing you pleasant viewing!

      Hello,

      Sorry for late reply.

Those Zephyr already had ZR-7 engine, when I worked on it. It also has ZR-7, wiring, ignition unit, dashboard and handlebar switches. Carburetors were from Zephyr as far as I remember.
Mounting points of ZR7 and Zephyr 750 are same.

      Kind regards,
      Nazar
